What’s the secret to Longevity?
According to my Great Uncle Joe, who just turned 103 last Sunday, it’s to “keep busy”. He would know. At 103 he is still mentally sharp and can still get around-he even lives alone in his own home! Uncle Joe immigrated to the US from current day Slovakia around 1915 and has lived in the Detroit area most of his life. His wife of many years, Helen, died over 20 years ago and they never had any children.
Uncle Joe still reads a lot and keeps up on the current day economy. He works in the garden on nice days and has been known to walk laps in his basement when the weather is bad outside…just to “keep busy”. I have to add that along with staying active, Uncle Joe has been one of the most positive personalities I have met. He is a joy to be around and I am proud to be his great nephew.
